A Dynamic GPS-Free Localization Technique using Progressive Interpolation

چکیده
Location management in wireless networks refers to a collection of tasks that strive to hide the effects of mobility from the user and/or application. It was realized, quite a while back, that extending emergency 911-like services (E-911) to a continually growing mobile population is one of the extremely important mobility management applications. The bulk of the proposed solutions to emergency location management in wireless environments are either reactive in nature or else rely on GPS-enabled end users. While GPS-enabled devices will become ubiquitous in the future, presently the use of GPS in highly accurate emergency location management is problematic. Unfortunately, GPS does not work well in poor atmospheric conditions, the very conditions under which emergency situations are likely to arise. The main contribution of this paper is the proposed new algorithm that employs a progressive prediction and interpolation technique for GSM systems. The localization results thus achieved are accurate and reliable than those obtained using conventional triangulation techniques.

Interpolation of GPS Results Incorporating Geophysical and InSAR Information
Continuous GPS networks, typically with a station spacing of about 30km, are still not dense enough to accurately characteristise the dynamics of active faults. Interpolation of these GPS results can improve our understanding of active faults and hence promote related studies. Moreover, even when the networks are densified in order to recover the signature of active faults, the station configur...

[1] We validate the temperature climatology recorded by the Microwave Sounding Unit with GPS occultation data collected by the GPS/MET experiment. We choose to validate only the lower stratospheric MSU climatology in order to circumvent the wet-dry ambiguity associated with GPS occultation in the midto lower troposphere. We simulate the lower stratospheric channel’s brightness temperature by co...

This paper presents an efficient technique to extremely increase the performance of Pedersen’s digital chirp generator concerning the level of the Spurious-Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) and size of the memory. The proposed digital chirp generator uses the piecewise parabolic interpolation to decrease the memory size and system complexity while maintaining excellent spectral performance in compariso...
متن کاملThe Double Interpolation and Double Prediction (didp) Approach for Insar and Gps Integration
The technique of synthetic aperture radar interferometry (or InSAR) was first suggested in 1974. Due to its characteristics of very high spatial resolution and wide coverage, as well as the cost effectiveness of the technique, it is not surprising that many earthquake ruptures have been studied using InSAR. However, InSAR is very sensitive to errors such as atmospheric effects, satellite orbit ...
